My grandchildren and I also have fun with those balsa wood airplanes that are powered by rubber bands. They are exactly like the ones we played with as kids. I just think there is something special about playing a game or reading a book or singing a song that is the same as it was 60 years ago.

Comment on Freebie Friday - Paper Airplanes

that's so cool!

Comment on Do You Remember This?

Weaving those pot holders was fun! I don't own one of those looms but I think I'll buy one for the grands. That way I'll have an excuse to do one myself!

Comment on OUCH!

I applaud you. I don't subscribe either. My mom had given me a subscription when I first turned fifty but I found it totally depressed me every time that I received the magazine so I let it expire. The clincher is that the people who lived in this cottage before me subscribed and never changed their address so the magazine still comes to this address. Thanks for reminding me that having it around is hazardous to my mental health. I'll email them tomorrow to advise AARP that the former tenants have moved. Ahhhh! I feel younger already!

Comment on OUCH!

You know, I refuse to subscribe to that magazine. I'm sure it is wonderful and has all kinds of enriching ideas---for the elderly. When I turned 50 I got my first card from them and tossed it. As soon as I begin to feel old, I might get a subscription. Well, I might unless I forget. What were we talking about?

Comment on Freebie Friday - Paper Airplanes

My 5 year old grandson will love that site. Every year I bring one of those little pot holder looms into my ESL class to explain the word "weaving" and then tie it into Global 9 content area ...the importance of weaving to primitive peoples...you know. But I really bring it in because I love having the chance to weave one of those pot holders again...weren't they fun?
