“Talented Tot Tackles Unknown” Nona Nita’s Blog

Yes, Emily defied gravity last night and took her first step. She is now officially walking! It seems that the tasty treat mom was holding was attractive enough for the child to forget the safety of holding on, and independently venture forward. In a moment, she began a two-footed journey that will forever change her whole perspective on life. Of course, mom, dad, and sister Hannah will have to change a few things. They’ll be running around baby-proofing lots of places that were safe from Emily’s grasp just yesterday. They won't mind the effort though, because excitement over this accomplishment is in the air. Emily has mastered another milestone, and Nona is so proud! My wish for her is this… for the rest of her life may she always comfortably and confidently embrace life's challenges by moving forward.

YOU GO GIRL!

What a beautiful and lovely wish for Emily. May all her steps forward be followed with your smiles. We have a one year old granddaughter named Emily too! She has not taken her first steps yet, but soon, I think, very soon. And then, as you said, all the safety precautions are taken! There is nothing like being a grandparent, is there?

Grandparenting is definately one of the jewels of life! Better put  on your running shoes. Once they start walking, we have to start running after them :>

Congratulations to Emily! Fantastic wish for her, and with a grandma like you rooting her on, I have a pretty good feeling that wish will come true. (Cute way of announcing the news with headlines!)

I have a granddaughter named Hannah, but no Emily. I also don't have any who are just learning to walk. Instead I have one who is driving! And two more not too far behind her.

It's hard to imagine my little ones behind the wheel of a car. I love that commercial where the father is giving instructions to the little girl sitting behind the wheel of the car. She says,"O.K. Daddy", and in the next shot she is a grown girl. It gives me a lump in my throat. Have you seen that one? Well, I'm sure the day will come for me, too. What's it like to think of them on the roads?

She sure won't be the first in our family to enjoy food. Thanks for sharing my joy.

I have both a sister and a little niece named Hannah. It has always been one of my favourite names. How wonderful that your own wee grand daughter has begun a new stage of exploration and life! May her precious little feet encounter much joy as she walks her own pathway.
