Why Grandchildren are so much Fun!

Well, it's Sunday morning and I'm  on R & R from my Saturday night babysitting gig with Sarah.  Her parents laughingly refer to her as "The Cyclone" and when she gets going, she can give Mr. Clean a run for his money, that's for sure!  At 16 months, she is absolutely amazing, interested in everything from the most expensive, educational toy to the cheapest, most incidental object of daily living...like the springy door stop on the back of the bathroom door. This mundane household staple amused her so much that I finally had to distract her and physically lift her away from it when I needed us to leave the room.  But that is exactly why grandchildren are so much fun.  I mean, like, when was the last time I even noticed the door stop?  And who would have ever imagined that it could be so much fun?  I learned from Sarah that when you pluck it with your finger, it makes a humming sound and that the harder you pluck it, the louder the sound becomes.  She taught me that if you keep plucking the doorstop and listening to the sound of it, a deep giggle wells up in the bottom of your being and before you know it, you're laughing like crazy...together.  That's why grandchildren are so much fun!
